De Grève Fine Art is delighted to announce a fundraising Pop Art Show in conjunction with the Terrence Higgins Trust.

The exhibition of significant Pop works by David Hockney, Keith Haring, Andy Warhol and Neo-Pop artist Julian Murphy will take place at the de Grève Gallery, 15 Stratton Street, Mayfair London W1. between March 20th and April 3rd, 2002. There will be a celebrity reception on the evening of March 20th.

The exhibiting artists have an international standing:

David Hockney (b. 1937) studied at the Royal College of Art, London between 1959-1962 and was among the group of British artists who first promoted the Pop aesthetic.

Keith Haring (1958-1990) employed his crowd-pleasing style in the service of Political causes and to support the fight against HIV and AIDS, the disease that eventually took his life.

Andy Warhol (1928-1987) after a highly successful career as a commercial artist, became one of the best-known names in American art and was among the innovators of the POP movement.

Julian Murphy (b. 1959) lives and works in Bristol as an artist and graphic designer. From his rich and sophisticated imagination springs a seemingly inexhaustible parade of astonishing images.

De Grève Fine Art is a Mayfair based dealership specialising in Pop art from Britain and the USA. The company presents between six and eight events a year from its Stratton Street gallery and other select international venues. De Grève also organise fine art auctions, curate private and corporate collections and source desirable pieces for an extensive client portfolio. De Grève Fine Art welcomes the opportunity to play its part in as exciting an event as this, the Gallery’s Directors would also like to reiterate how delighted they are to donate the company’s time and resources to raise funds for such a worthwhile cause.

The Terrence Higgins Trust is the leading HIV and AIDS charity in the UK. The charity provides advice to those at risk from HIV and a comprehensive range of support services for people living with or affected by HIV. There are now more people in the UK with HIV than at any time in the past, not only are people now living longer with HIV, but the number of new cases diagnosed increases year on year. With this in mind, the Terrence Higgins Trust would like to thank the artists involved in the show and would also like to thank Daniel Rogers and Peter Gwyther of de Grève Fine Art, for all of their efforts in staging this event for the benefit of the Trust.

As a result of this fundraising event, the Terrence Higgins Trust will receive a proportion of the revenue generated by the show, along with the entire proceeds from the sale of a work by Keith Haring that has kindly been donated by the Directors of de Grève Fine Art. Mr Julian Clary will conduct the auctioning of the gifted piece at the private view on March 20th.
